Sustainable Development

The noble purpose of development is to create a prosperous society. However, the benefits of economic growth have not yet been equally felt by all Indonesians—particularly Indigenous Peoples and other vulnerable groups.

Indonesia’s rapid land-based development has brought not only progress, but also serious challenges—from environmental degradation and land conflicts to the loss of Indigenous Peoples’ living spaces and livelihoods.

KEMITRAAN works to ensure that development doesn’t leave anyone behind. We advocate for an approach that balances natural resource protection with social equity, putting the needs of vulnerable groups and future generations at the center of sustainable development.
