The KEMITRAAN Strategic Plan 2022–2026 is developed to ensure that the organization remains relevant and effective in responding to the continuously changing dynamics of governance. Although Indonesia has recorded progress in reform efforts, various structural challenges remain evident, ranging from signs of democratic regression, the weakening of the anti-corruption movement, to the shrinking space for public participation. This condition underscores that governance reform requires approaches that are adaptive, collaborative, and sustainable.
KEMITRAAN views these challenges as inseparable from regional and global contexts, including the growing trend of neo-authoritarianism that tests democratic resilience. Therefore, this Strategic Plan also affirms the expansion of KEMITRAAN’s role at the Southeast Asian and global levels, as part of Indonesia’s contribution to strengthening democratic governance and sharing good practices across countries.
As a reference document, this Strategic Plan is designed through a comprehensive and participatory process and serves as a foundation for KEMITRAAN to continue bringing together actors, ideas, and resources in driving systemic change. We appreciate all partners who have contributed and invite ongoing collaboration to realize more inclusive, transparent, and accountable governance.
