Prof. Dr. Valina Singka Subekti, M.Sc. is an academic at the Department of Political Science, FISIP, University of Indonesia (UI) and an expert in the field of political science. He was a member of the MPR RI for the period 1999-2004 from the Utusan Golongan faction and a member of the KPU RI for the period 2004-2007.

In addition, Valina was also trusted as a member of the Selection Committee for Candidates for KPU Commissioners and a member of the Election Organizer Honorary Council (DKPP) for the 2012-2017 period. Her academic career began as an assistant to Prof. Dr. Miriam Budiharjo in 1982. After graduating from UI in 1985, she became a permanent lecturer in the Department of Political Science UI since 1987. She also obtained her master’s and doctoral degrees in political science from UI, in 1996 and 2006, respectively.

On October 12, 2019, Valina was inaugurated as a professor at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, University of Indonesia (FISIP UI) in the field of political science, coinciding with the inauguration of her husband, Prof. Imam Subekti, as a professor at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia.
