Laode Muhammad Syarif
Executive DirectorLaode M. Syarif holds a Master's degree in International Environmental Law from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Sydney. He has more than 25 years of experience in the fields of education, environmental governance, social transformation, human rights, anti-corruption, conflict prevention and security sector reform. Laode M. Syarif holds a Master's degree in International Environmental Law from Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in Brisbane, Australia, and a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Sydney. In 2015, he was elected as one of the Commissioners of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and served in the 2015-2019 period. He is experienced with issues and trends related to governance and the development sector in Indonesia. His professional portfolio includes, among other things, related to security, legal and judicial reform programs, including developing Anti-Corruption and Environmental Law Clinics at several Law Faculties in Indonesia. He is also one of the principle trainers at the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia in the fields of Environmental Law and Judicial Code of Ethics. He received the Alumni of the Year award in 2018 from the Australia Awards in Indonesia. After his term at the KPK, in 2020 he returned to the Partnership to become Executive Director.
