Dr. Philips J. Vermonte is an academic and public policy analyst with extensive expertise in comparative politics, democratization, and international relations. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the Universitas Islam Internasional Indonesia (UIII) and is a Senior Fellow at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Jakarta.
He earned his Master of Arts in International Studies from the University of Adelaide, Australia, through an AusAID scholarship, and later completed his Ph.D. in Political Science at Northern Illinois University, USA, in 2012. Dr. Vermonte is actively engaged in research and academic publishing, focusing on topics such as voter behavior, party systems, and Indonesia’s foreign policy.
As a Fellow of the Partnership for Governance Reform (KEMITRAAN), Dr. Vermonte contributes to efforts aimed at strengthening democratic and equitable governance in Indonesia. His involvement illustrates the valuable collaboration between academia and policy practitioners in advancing inclusive, evidence-based public policy reforms, aligned with KEMITRAAN’s mission to promote good and clean governance across all sectors of national life.
