Arif Zulkifli is a senior journalist and editor who has long been active in Indonesia’s media landscape. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer at PT Tempo Inti Media Tbk, a leading media company renowned for its commitment on investigative and independent journalism. His academic background from Universitas Indonesia has supported his efforts in building trustworthy and high-integrity media platforms.
As Chair of the Law and Legislation Commission at the Indonesian Press Council, Arif plays a key role in shaping policies related to press freedom and media regulation in the digital era. He emphasizes the importance of maintaining media independence from the influence of global digital platforms and ensuring that new regulations do not undermine the press freedoms achieved since Indonesia’s reform era.
As a Teman Serikat of the Partnership for Governance Reform (KEMITRAAN), Arif contributes to advancing transparent and accountable governance. His role focuses on the vital connection between independent media and governance reform, highlighting how free and responsible journalism serves as a cornerstone of democracy and a driver of public participation in policymaking.
