JAKARTA – KEMITRAAN through the Estungkara Program, has invited the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) to strengthen cooperation in various strategic regional development programs with a focus on social inclusion. This initiative was conveyed during a meeting held on Thursday, March 6, 2025, in Jakarta.
During the meeting, KEMITRAAN Program Manager, Yasir Sani, and Program Officer, Tracy Pasaribu, engaged in discussions with Iwan Kurniawan, Director of PEIPD at the Directorate General of Regional Development of the Ministry of Home Affairs, along with his team. One of the key points discussed was the formulation of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between PARTNERSHIP and Kemendagri, which will soon be formalized to ensure stronger synergy.
KEMITRAAN proposed several strategic agendas for collaboration with Kemendagri, including the implementation of joint activities through the Estungkara Program.
Additionally, the collaboration will include mentoring programs for districts and cities to enhance local governments’ understanding of GEDSI (Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion) and technical aspects related to the Regional Government Information System (SIPD). These mentoring sessions will take the form of forums and can be conducted in Estungkara-supported regions or with other national INKLUSI partners. Furthermore, the initiative will involve a Collaboration Forum with Ministries/Agencies (K/L) to identify mandatory elements in regional planning documents, ensuring inclusivity in public policies.
As a form of commitment and follow-up to this initiative, Bangda Kemendagri has expressed its openness to further collaboration with KEMITRAAN. During the meeting, Kemendagri requested further clarification regarding the target beneficiaries and areas supported by KEMITRAAN to ensure that the established synergy is mutually beneficial.
Several concrete steps were also agreed upon. One of them is that Kemendagri will develop a work plan outlining strategic activities and expected outcomes. KEMITRAAN is expected to review this plan and align its programs with potential areas for joint implementation.
Through this collaboration, KEMITRAAN aims to realize inclusive regional development strategies. It also hopes that all segments of society, including vulnerable groups, will receive due consideration in national development policies.
